New to Sharptools since they finally disabled ActionTiles. Is there an Alternative Weather Tiles (other then Open Weather) and any Nest Thermostat Tiles workarounds into SharpTools? I can add devices via SmarTthings or Hubitat into SharpTools.
Is there something particular you are looking for? Or something particular you donât like about the Open Weather options? Other options noted here:
SmartThings is not allowed to expose the Nest Thermostats to other integrations as part of their partnership agreement with Nest.
Other hubs like Hubitat and Home Assistant offer community integrations for integrating Nest Thermostats and you can integrate those into SharpTools. Thereâs also a feature request open for a direct Nest integration, but there are some potential challenges with that as noted here:
Hi Josh. The Open Weather app is fine, but I just wished it showed which city the app is currently displaying, as well as if it can change locations depending on your device locations (or worst case scenario, manually changing the locations with a few clickable drops down options.
As for the Hubitat community integration with the Nest Thermostat, I also have Hubitat. Where can I find the Community API in Hubitat for the Next Thermostat?
I would take a look over on the Hubitat Community and post over there if you need further help with integrating Nest with Hubitat.
From a quick search, it sounds like they even support the 4th generation learning and basic Nest Thermostat via Matter with local control per this thread. Otherwise thereâs a community integration called the Google SDM API - Nest Integration (Hubitat) that supports a wider range of the Nest Thermostats.
The Today (Wide) layout supports displaying the city name. For other layouts, you could use the âLabelâ setting on the instance of the tile you add to your dashboard for a static label centered at the top of the tile.
The tile is open source so other community members have made their own tweaks to it, like this one which layers in local sensor data and rain probability data.
You could post your requests in the main Open Weather Tile thread to see if other community members are interested â maybe one of them even has the skills to implement the feature!
Otherwise some community members have even had luck taking existing custom tiles and passing them to modern AI / LLMs like Claude and working with it to make their desired adjustments.
