Trying to see how I can take advantage of using something for automation with sharptools, but wondering why it favors tasker versus others like automagic? Can you use one over the other within sharptools?
It’s really just a matter of scale and market presence. Tasker is the most popular automation app on Android and has millions of users whereas Automagic has thousands of users.
That being said, many of the automation apps on Android are Tasker / Locale plugin compatible and thus the SharpTools plugins will work with them. There may be certain features that these other automation apps don’t fully support (eg. event trigger plugins), but the community has found that most of the plugin actions work just fine (eg. controlling Things).
