Wanted to share a quick working and completed project with the group. I find myself frequently having to look up why & when the US flag is at half-staff (every time I drive onto my daughter’s school campus, it is the first question I’m asked).
So, I searched for an API that could provide the status and rationale behind if the US (or state) flag is at half-staff.
I send a notification the first time the current date equals a half-staff event as well as show a notification on the family’s dashboards to indicate the rationale. All are below.
