Unifi Cameras now use HTTPS for snap.jpeg

FYI to those using the SNAP.JPG on your local network with UNIFI cameras, you maybe have seen issues recently on your dashboards. Looks like Unifi took away HTTP support and replaced it with HTTPS which causes a certificate error.

Anyone know of a workaround for this?

Im having to open the browser on that device (the same browser that shows the sharptools dash) and open each camera feed URL and ‘ignore’ the certificate error.

Potential Solutions

I think there is a way to issue a local cert for the camera, but I havent invested enough time into the solution yet.

I’ve tried reducing the Chrome settings to allow for this, and also launched Chrome with the right command line options to supposedly ignore cert errors - to no avail.

FullyKisok has a setting to ignore SSL errors in the PLUS version of the browser. Switched to that and my dashboard was revived.

I don’t use Chrome but I tested this out and it seemed to work for me: For each camera you use in your dashboard, open a separate tab and accept the SSL failure @https://xxx.xxx.x.x/snap.jpeg. Refresh your dashboard. Not sure if this is permanent or if you’ll have to periodically repeat this process but seemed to work.

Yeh it’s temporary unfortunately. I’ve had to do this a couple of times already. Cheers
