SmartThings vs Residio thermostat

Well, I’m back again. T9 thermostat no longer updating in SmartThings (again) and thus Sharptools. I deleted the device and SmartThings will not allow me to reconnect it as it says it’s still connected. I talked to Residio and they said that the device is working fine and I can confirm that it is as I can control it in the Residio app. They recommended I contact Samsung. First, if their (Samsung) support AI is any indication… not sure it knows of SmartThings as it connected me to a person in TV’s who said I can contact SmartThings after 9:00AM pacific. Any suggestions?

Have you tried posting in the SmartThings community to see if anyone else has run into that sort of issue with that particular device and SmartThings? You could also check my.smartthings.com/advanced to see if there are any remnants of the original device there.

Spent about 45 minutes with SmartThings support. Not at all easy to get through all the different level of support at Samsung. Discovered that in the Residio app the linked services tab shows SmartThings listed twice. Probably the original and then again when I deleted and re-added the thermostat. They said I’d need to talk to Residio about that. Again an ordeal to get to a person in support. When I did, it took a while to convince them that I’d done everything I could with Samsung. Finally they said I needed to delete the thermostat from the Residio app. Then I deleted the app. Did that and then they reset it remotely. I was instructed to install the app again and add the thermostat. They ended the Chat Session at this point. Reinstalled the app and added the thermostat. I immediately went to the linked services page and there’s SmartThings, linked twice. I relayed the info to SmartThings and have not heard back. Thinking of purchasing a new thermostat.

Oh, man. I’m sorry to hear that. Sounds like a real pain trying to bounce between SmartThings and Resideo support. :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

Had the same issues the WiFi T6s. Dropped in zwave replacements and never been happier.

Ordered an Ecobee thermostat. I have one in my home and never had an issue that was quickly resolved with their EXCELLENT customer service.
