I have a Zooz zen15 switch connected to a refrigerator in order to monitor energy usage during the month. When adding as a tile, it only displays on or off and has no option to display energy. Energy displays properly in Smartthings. What am I doing wrong.

Have you tried using a Hero Attribute tile so you can select which attribute you want to display?
Otherwise, you could use a Super Tile if you wanted more control over customizing how things are displayed:
