Random Number / Random Time in Rule Engine

Hi Ian - thanks for posting. You would need to create a separate feature request for that to be tracked.

This particular feature request, from the original post, is about being able to generate a random number for use in a delay / timing. Now that expressions are released which support generating random numbers and Dynamic Delays (random, variables, or expressions) are released, I would consider this feature request topic closed.

Guidelines for posting a feature request:

  • Prefer multiple narrowly scoped requests over a single generic request
• Please include use cases or examples
• Include commentary on what problem you expect the feature will solve

I would also note that this particular request is for being able to use random numbers on the time side of things (eg. using a random number in a delay).

Ian also mentioned a random number of lights (random selection of lights?) which is not covered by the original feature request and I’m not sure if I’ve seen a separate feature request submitted for that before. Feel free to create a request if one doesn’t already exist.
