Interesting thing is happening for me. All my tablets are powered through POE and when I add the Open Weather tile to the dashboard, it increases the battery discharge to a point where the low trickle of charging through POE does not keep up with battery usage and tablets die out. Any ideas?
Which Open Weather tile? The custom tile that I built ( Weather Tile - Open Weather - Current and Forecast )? If so, I can’t think of any reason that would cause any meaningful increase in energy consumption. Perhaps you can share more details about how you tested things and what your configuration is?
Yes, I used the custom tile with the API from Open Weather. First I noticed that my tablets were out in the morning. My test was watching the battery % on the tablets and including/excluding the custom weather tile. With the tile on the dashboard battery % keeps going down while the tab is plugged in. When i remove the custom weather tile, the battery % goes up while plugged in. My first thought on why it’s increasing the battery usage is the live tile animation, is there are way to just have an image?
