I suddenly realized one of my rules was no longer working. Long story short a sensor battery had died and the last status of the sensor showed a battery level of 42% so it took me a while to connect the dots.
Now I know there are ways that I could setup a dashboard that just showed battery status or I could setup a rule that alerted me when the battery level went below a certain threshold but these are the kinds of checks I’d like to see the system handling without me having to think about it first and then implement and maintain it. The same sentiment applies to a sensor that has not responded for a given amount time.
Just a thought. Perhaps an automatic dashboard that contains tiles for devices that fall below the specified thresholds that could be auto-populated by the system. Users could opt in to alerting whenever a new tile gets added to the dashboard.
