I have managed to put myself in SMS notification jail. Totally self-inflicted.
I was out of town and a device went rogue on me and I could not get to it. The result is I now get a error saying I have exceeded my SMS quota for the month. Fair enough.
So I thought I would try to be a better Netizen and switched my notifications to email, which does not incur any incremental costs for the platform.
I did that and now I get the message – Failed to send email notification – but there is no further explanation.
q1. Am I still in notification jail? If so, how long should I remain quiet in order to allow the quota to reset?
q2. Is there anywhere else I can look to try and debug this email error further. The email address is verified in my profile and there is nothing unusual in my email subject and header.. (special chars, etc…)
Any constructive thoughts on this issue would be appreciated.
It looks like your e-mail address ended up on the Suppression list as Comcast bounced back many different emails around 11/27/2025. I can remove the e-mail address from the suppression list as a one-time courtesy if you’d like.
I would note that Comcast can be really bad about bouncing emails and being overly aggressive with (incorrectly) applying spam filters, so I would strongly encourage you to add SharpTools to your email whitelist.
Yes, please remove me from the supression list if possible. Thank you.
I have attempted to whiteist sharptools.io with Comcast and will also be looking into using an alternate provider for this purpose.
(I agree that Comcast can be very problematic. Fortunately Xfinity is getting out of the email business, and migrating their customers over to Yahoo ending some time in late 2026.)
