Creating a group of lights

Is it possible to create a group without creating a virtual device in SmartThings? I don’t mind creating a virtual device in SmartThings, but I would prefer to keep things in SharpTools. I have created a rule as described in other posts, it just doesn’t do anything yet. Sorry if I’m asking something that has been answered elsewhere.

Request: Link to Dashboard from Aggregated Data

I believe @Thomas_Howard meant he aggregates the status literally in “SmartApp” in SmartThings IDE. Alternatively, you can aggregate the status using Rule Engine without coding. Create virtual device in SmartThings, and use Rule Engine in SharpTools.io to update the virtual device’s status when real devices’ status change. Light Group With Correct Status

Hello All, I wanted to take a minute to share a solution I found for light group status. The problem: When grouping lights, switch / tile would report “off” unless all lights in the group where on. The use case: Using smart bulbs (or in my case downlights) and wanting the ability to control lights with multiple groups. You can use a variable in SharpTools as the destination to aggregate the status to.

I looked at variables before posting and something made me think they wouldn’t work. I’ve read the page introducing variables, and see that this is one of the main features.
