Clearing a String Variable

What’s the best practice for removing the contents of a string variable (setting to blank) within a Rule? The only way I have found thus far is using an empty Expression. Can it be done with the ‘manual’ option?

Hm. I’ll have to take a look at this when I’m back in the office. We standardized some of the content validators when we added the expression feature and I suspect we might have set the manual input to be required… and to your point, it seems reasonable to allow that field to be blank, but I’m not sure if there’s some reason why it wasn’t allowed.

Thanks for sharing your workaround with using an expression and I’ll take a look at allowing a ‘blank’ manual input for this use-case.
